Desert Dust Cinema is a nonprofit film festival organized by a few of the denizens of Lobo, Texas. Lobo is located on US Hwy 90, 16 miles south of I-10 exit 140 (Van Horn). In 2016, the festival will take place from Friday, September 02 to Sunday, September 04 (Labor Day Weekend).
The program includes international short films in a variety of styles. Our selection spans animations, stop motion, music videos and experimental shorts to motion graphics. Due to the length of the whole material, the clips will be be shown in separate programs on Saturday and Sunday.
The schedule for the screenings 2016 is fixed – a total of 33 clips. Several experimental live music acts will perform at the pool area after the screenings.
All screenings of the Desert Dust Cinema take place in the area of the former Lobo gas station. Depending on the weather it will be either open air or indoors. There is no cover charge. Please bring your own chairs.
Also keep in mind that Lobo is still a town without the usual comfort standards, so there won’t be anything for sale – feel free to bring your food and drinks.
Hope to see you around in Lobo!
